WE'RE A FAMILY
By: Ronald Lee Quinn, USA
No matter where life may lead us four, We have faith, hope and charity, don't you see, Life together is blessed, who could ask for more, We'll be happy you see, 'cause we're a family.
Life may kick us in the shins and put us down, Though from work and heartaches we will not flee,
But upon our faces you'll never see a frown, We'll be happy you see, 'cause we're a family.
We may sleep 'neath the stars, but we'll have love, We'll live from day to day, Darling we'll be free,
We'll walk, talk, and listen to a lovely turtle dove, We'll be happy you see, 'cause we're a family.
And when the time comes that we are parted, We won't be sad, we trust God, you see, We'll look upon our kids, proud of what we've started, We'll be happy you see, 'cause we're a family.
A PRAYER FOR FAMILY'S PROTECTION
By: Gerardo Ebrado Genio, Philippines
Lord, let myself be inspired again Give me the courage to have regain Let excitement and wisdom rule my heart To lead everyone and never be hurt.
Bless my parents and my brothers and sisters as well. Lead them to the right and protect them from evil. Let then feel I am with them As well as me with them in rhythm.
Send your angels to guard them up To build walls sturdy and straight enough. Let them sing with their songs of grace, Songs of salvation, the songs of praises. Amen.
Note: This poem was written when I was in a Summer Camp. Since it was the first time when I was really far from home, I got homesicked and to relieve such i wrote this one.

I ran into a stranger as he passed by, "Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me too; I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I. We went on our way and we said good-bye.
But at home a different story is told, How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal, My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down. "Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken. I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed, God's still small voice came to me and said,
"While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use, but the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor, You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you. He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."
By this time, I felt very small, And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed; "Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?" He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you. I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today; I shouldn't have yelled at you that way." He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

When I was One, I had just begun.
When I was Two, I was nearly new.
When I was Three, I was hardly Me.
When I was Four, I was not much more.
When I was Five, I was just alive.
But now I am Six, I'm as clever as clever.
So I think I'll be six now for ever and ever.
Inspirational Family Poems

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.
